The Ethnic Aged Care Project provides services to people from the
Arabic, Assyrian, Chinese, Khmer, Laotian, Spanish, Vietnamese, Filipino
and Former Yugoslavian communities. The Project has just received
additional packages targeting our existing communities together with
people from the Filipino and Former Yugoslavian communities.
To receive a Community Care Package, your needs must first be assessed.
This is usually done by the Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT)at Liverpool
Hospital. The service is provided in the person’s home by a bilingual
carer. The service will work with the client and members of the family
to develop a care plan that meets the needs of the client. The Ethnic
Aged Care Project is unique in that service is provided by carers
who speak their language and understand their cultural background.
Approximately 6 hours care per week is provided, usually between 8am
and 6pm, Monday to Friday.
