Regional Migrant Advisory Committee (RMAC)
The RMAC is a wonderful opportunity to keep up to date
with the latest Centrelink initiatives. It provided community service
providers and ethnic specific organisations with a forum to give feedback
about any Centrelink issues and to meet the Centrelink Business Managers
and Multicultural Service Officers face to face. The RMAC has four broad
objectives:
1. To provide a regular consultative mechanism
for Refugee / Migrant / NESB issues relevant to Centrelink services
and policies.
2. To propose strategies at the local and regional level and to identify
wider policy issues and implications that should be referred to the
State MAC, Multicultural Consultative Forum, or through other appropriate
channels.
3. To receive reports from the MAC, MCF , or other bodies on the progress
of issues raised.
4. To link with other government and non government organizations on
issues which are of mutual concern and invite representatives to address
such concerns.
RMAC meetings are held every 3 months on the 3rd Tuesday of the month,
and the venue alternates between Fairfield and Cabramatta Centrelink.
